Term 3 ESOL Reflection

The last day of Term has now finally came and it's time to make reflections about our subjects. This blog post will be about my ESOL experience this term. ESOL is a very fun subject. One of the best lessons that I enjoyed the most was when we had to write essays. I found it fairly easy to do since our teacher has provided enough things to help us through it. The ones that I liked writing the most was the persuasive writings, mainly the one that we have just finished. That I found the most interesting because it's about covid and how its affecting the world. I got to find out more about it and the things that it has caused us. The one task that I was proud of was again, the writings that I have done. When comparing the writings that I have done this term to last term, I can say that I have improved. Doing essays this term helped me get better at writing. I learned how to construct the writings in the right way and not just it being all over the place. One thing that I want to improve for next term is submitting the work at the given time. I don't usually have problems with doing that but there were times when I did. I also want to improve to that so that I won't have to use my own time on completing them. That is all for this term in ESOL and I'm looking forward for next term.

Respect - ESOL

For today in ESOL, we are going to be talking about respect; why it is important to show respect. Respect is one of the most important values that we have to show to each other. It is one of our school values as well, that's how important it is. You as a human being would naturally show respect to other people since it takes a very big part of our lives. If you don't know how to show and treat people with respect, don't expect them to show it to you. People will treat you the same way you treat them, which is very fair for the both sides.

One of the main ways you can show respect to people is by words. Knowing when you should be speaking formally or informally to a person, no matter what their age is. Using your manners when asking for something or asking for something to be done, doesn't matter if you're in a higher position than them or not. You can also show respect by the way you act when around them. Knowing what to do or not to do in different situations; controlling yourself. If you act childish while in a serious matter, the people that you are with will think of you as a disrespectful person since you can't even take things seriously. They would want to be less around you especially in special/serious situations.

You also do a lot of common respectful things while in school such as saying please and thank yous, offering to hold the door for other students or teachers, and a lot of other ways. When a teacher helps you or a classmate, you say thank you without even noticing.

Name Acronym - ESOL

Hey guys, this is what we did in ESOL this week. We had to make an Acronym for our first name. We had to use the words that actually describes us.

This is the poster that I made with my Name Acronym. The two characteristics that I’m going to be talking about are J which means Joyous and L which means Loving. I chose these to describe the first letters of my name because that is my attitude most of the time.

J for Joyous. I chose the word joyous because I’m always happy. I’m always energetic and I can easily put a smile on people’s faces. I’m joyous when I’m with my friends and family, I enjoy spending time with them. L for Loving. I love my family and friends. I love spending time with them, going to different places with them. I make them feel loved and special every time I’m with them or by checking up on them.

321 RIQ - 10 ESOL

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog! For today's blog post, I'm going to be telling you guys how to use 321 RIQ. 321 RIQ can be used when you make a blog post just like this one. Here is what 321 RIQ stands for. 3 and R means 3 Recalls. You answer this question by putting three things that you recall from that subject. Three things that you remember learning about. 2 and I means 2 insights. The answer for this question should include two things that you remember learning about. Lastly, 1 and Q. 1 and Q stands for 1 question. You have to ask one question about something that you might've not understood while learning. I'm going to be doing it under this writing so you can see and understand it more. Using this method is very helpful and helps the audience understand it better.

Last week was our first day back doing ESOL. From our fist lesson to this lesson, the 3 main things that I recall is our new teacher introducing herself, everyone introducing themselves to the class, and learning about this. 2 things that I learnt was the people in my class and somethings about them and again, this method. The question that I have is that what are we going to be doing for the rest of the year.
