Cupcakes

Hi guys, hope you all are doing well during this home quarantine. For this blog, I'm going to be showing and teaching you the cupcake that we made at Term one. I know that this blog post should have been posted weeks ago but I forgot and just remembered to do it now. Just so you know, we did this Anyways, here are some things that you have to do:.

Ingredients:

125 g Margarine / Butter
3/4 c of Sugar
1 t of Vanilla Essence
2 Eggs ( size 7 )
1 1/2 c of Plain Flour
2 t of Baking Powder
1/2 c of Milk

Method:

- Turn the Oven on 180 c on Bake.
- Cream the Butter in a large glass bowl using a wooden spoon.
- Add the Sugar and continue creaming it until the texture turns light and fluffy.
- Add Vanilla Essence and beat briefly.
- Add Eggs one at a time. Make sure to beat it well after you add each Eggs.
- Sift Flour and Baking Powder onto a large plate.
- Using a Rubber scraper, scrape all of the butter mixture off of the wooden spoon.
- Add at least two table spoon of the Flour and Baking Powder and Milk into the Butter mixture, then start folding them in with the Rubber scraper.
- Just keep on adding the Milk and Flour mixture into the Butter mixture until there's no more left. Do no Over mix.
- Gently scoop some of the cake batter into 12 paper cases. Make sure to do this evenly. ( The paper cases should be in the cupcake pan )
- Put in the Oven and let it cook for seven minutes. Then once it's done cooking, put it on Fan Bake and then cook for 6-8 more minutes.

After all of that. you're DONE! We decided to decorate ours. My cupcake is the one that has a face on it and the rest are my seat mates one:

  1. Better late than never! Thank you for putting this on your blog, I enjoy seeing what you have been doing in other classes (: I like how you have clearly listed the ingredients and instructions. They look delicious! Did you get to eat them all?

  2. Hi Janel. This a good blog post. You have provided the recipe and method but there are no pictures of the method steps - mise en place, creamed mixture, appearance of mix when eggs are added etc. You have made an excellent job of icing your cupcakes but what flavour was the icing and how did the finished product taste? Sensory evaluation plus suitable photo would have made this post an excellent post.

  3. Your decorated Cupcakes look great, Janel. What flavour was the blue icing? The use of the licorice and sprinkles to do the face decoration is effective.
The recipe and method are clearly set out and well explained.
