Tane Mahuta Reflection

This week on Tane Mahuta, I didn't really get to do that much of stuff. The first thing that I did after I got change was to rush to the garden to help do some work. Once we got there, people were everywhere. Some were mixing the dirt, some were in the greenhouse lifting  heavy things, some were bringing the dead branches that were already cut up at the back of the green house, and some were hammering the table legs off one by one. The one that I helped with was the mixing of the dirt. The thing that I didn't know was there was already Horse poo.

Anyway, we were just keep on mixing until we got bored and decided to go and help with the lifting of the branches. There was already way to much people doing it so we just decided not to do it. I really wanted to help with the lifting but again, there was enough people that were already doing it. Mr. Tisch called everyone up to tell us that it was already morning tea. That was everything that I did today at Tane Mahuta. I'm a little bit sad that I only got to do Tane Mahuta for a period but I'm really looking forward on doing it next week.

By the way, the reason why I only got to do Tane Mahuta for an hour was because I had to do my Passion which is Singing. The things that we did on Singing was to practise as much songs as we can because we hardly know the songs.

Tane Mahuta Reflection

Kumusta everyone! This week on Tane Mahuta, we've been really busy lifting and and we've done a lot of stuff. The first thing that I did ones I came back from Kiwi Kaha is to get change into our P.E gear. We rushed to go to the garden and did the work right away. The first thing that I helped with was the planting. The Plants that we planted are called, Cauliflower, Lettuce, Cabbage, and Beetroot. We had to dig a little hole using our hands then we put the roots of the plants in the hole then cover it with a little bit of dirt on the side.

After we finished planting the plants, I eventually helped with lifting some of the heavy things that were still inside the the greenhouse. Ones we've done that, I grabbed a hammer and helped someone to break the cabinet apart. It was a pretty big cabinet and it also has a door glass that is still attached to it so we waited until they got the screws out. Right after he got the glass door off, we started hammering the cabinet apart one by one. We only got to hammer the top bit of the cabinet because it was way to herd to break it apart using a normal hammer. So one of the teachers called a student that was holding a sledge hammer and he got to do it instead of us.

After all the hammering, he finally hammered the cabinet apart and we then had to pick up the bits and pieces up from the floor then put it outside at the wood pile. When there was no more things to do at the green house, we started picking up woods, metals and plastic then put it in piles. There was really heavy ones that needed two people to pick it up. It was really tiring and I feel really sore.

That's it for this Blog Post. Thank you guys for reading. Please leave me a comment! BYE!

Today's Blog Post is going to be about my Learning Conference slide. My parents couldn't go at the Conference day so I'll just present it to you guys instead. The things that are included in the slide that I made are, a Blog post of my own choice, a Learning Story that I recently made, Latest Maths work or Strategy that I am working on, Our Reading Plus result, and a Picture of my Spelling book / tasks tht I've done.We made a Learning Conference slide to show our parents the things that we are currently learning here at school.

Here is my Slide:

P.E Reflection / Questions

Hurumanu Maintenance Challenge Questions

1. What did I found Challenging and WHY?
The things that I found challenging was to find out the answers to the different questions that we had to answer. I also found it challenging to finish all the questions to finish some maths questions on the time that we are given because some of the people that was on my team doesn't help us with the problems and other different things.

2. Some that you would like to learn
I want to learn more about measurements and how you would times it together and also the easy ways to know the measurement of something.

3. Did you enjoy it? Why and why not?
I enjoyed it because I like solving maths problems. I didn't like it because sometimes, my team doesn't listen to me and my opinions.

I wan't less of punishments that we get because of some people that don't listen. I want less of physical things because some people can't really do a lot of physical things because of their health or asthma.

Digital Technology

For the past eight weeks, we've been working on a Digital Change Project. The issue that I focused on was Littering. After we chose an issue that we wanted to focus on, we then had to research about it.

Here is the link that I did my research on and the Flow Chart that I made:

I really enjoyed making a game about the issue that I chose. Again, the issue that I chose was Littering, and the source that I made my game with is GameFroot. I found it pretty difficult to research about my issue because sometimes, it doesn't come up with an answer or there's a lot of websites that I have to check and read the articles that they wrote. Maybe when I made the the sentences more specific, it would come up with the answers that I expected it to have. But when I finished the research part, I got to make the game which was really exciting. I think I needed a bit more time to finish my game because I was only able to make two levels and my goal was to make three levels. I haven't really put the rubbish pictures that will connect to my issue, but I'm still working on it.

Tane Mahuta

Kia O Ra everyone! Today I'm going to talk about the things that we are currently doing in our CIP subject which is called, "Tane Mahuta". The things that we currently did at the green house this week was to take out everything except for the BIG and HEAVY tables and the vegetables as well. I arrived at the garden pretty late because we had Kiwi Kaha for the first half of period 2. Once me and my friends got back from Kiwi Kaha, we had to look for the class because we had no idea where they are at. When we finally found them, they told us to get change into our P.E gear.

We quickly put our bags back in the classroom and ran back to the garden so that we could help with lifting and cleaning up. I got there pretty early than I thought and actually helped lifting up some heavy metal and bits and pieces. Then it was Morning Tea time.

After Morning Tea, we all got back to the garden and start doing more work. We lifted 2 cabinets and they were pretty heavy. There was one cabinet that was really tall and heavy as well. We couldn't pick it up easily because there was a piece of wood that was inside the cabinet and it was a glass door, so if we try to tilt it and pick it up, the glass with break and it would be a mess. We called the tall boys that could help the teacher to pick it up instead of the girls trying to pick it up.

Once they got the big cabinet out, we lifted the big table out of the way so that we can clean up the floor because it was full of dust. I was one of the people who had to clean up the floor. We were rushing because we only had a short period of time before one class leave to do other things. I helped mixing the compost and dirt instead and it was really tiring.

Anyways, thank you guys for visiting my blog. Please leave a comment!

Fitness Testing

Last week on our P.E session, we had to do the Fitness Testing again, but the first time they did it I wasn't there. So the results that I'm going to talk about is the results that I got last week.

The score that I got for the first activity that we did which is called " Sit and Reach " for the first try is 26.4 cm and for the second try, I got 28.1 cm. For me, I did pretty bad because the score that I got when I did it last year was 30 plus so I was pretty disappointed but I think I could do better next time.

The second test that we did was the " Grip Test ". We did this test using a hand grip. The score that I got is 32. I don't really know if I did it right, but my hand hurts after I did it.

The third one that we did is the vertical test. The score that I got is 2.4. I think that was a better score than last year. Maybe because I got taller. A little bit. The fourth and last testing that we did is the sit ups. I got 15 or 20. I honestly can't remember.
