Last Friday in Home Economics, we made some Savoury Bread Cases.
Ingredients:
Butter
White Bread
Brown Bread
Canned Spaghetti
Canned Beans
Grated Cheese
Equipment needed:
Cupcake pan
Bread knife
Small cutting knife
Cutting board
The first thing that we did was to get the bread, we all got two each, one white bread and one brown bread. What we had to do was to cut the sides off, put some butter on one side of it using the bread knife, put the side that had butter on the cupcake pan carefully without pressing the centre of the bread too much. The next thing that we had to do was to put it in the oven for 5 minutes to let it set and for it to be able to hold it's shape. If you are wondering, the oven was set on fan bake and the temperature was 180 Celsius.
While we wait for 5 minutes, we prepared the ingredients that we are going to put on the middle of the bread. We placed each toppings on different small bowls. The different toppings that we had were some canned spaghetti, canned beans, and some grated cheese.
After 5 minutes, we took the bread out from the oven and started placing all the different ingredients on the middle of the bread. After that, we placed it right back to the oven to cook for just about 10 to 15 minutes. One of my teammates started washing while all of us started doing all the other cleaning things that was also needed to be done.
Finally, the bread was finally finished! We got to eat it outside that classroom because we still got a bit more time and finished earlier than we thought we would, especially because it was the first cooking session for Home Technology. The outside of the bread was really crunchy while the middle was so chewy and also had a lot of flavours.
