Do you like Dogs?

For the task that we have to do in ESOL, we have to think about an Animal or a Famous Celebrity that we like and list down the reasons why we like them. When your listing down the reasons, we have to use some noun phrases to describe how they look and their personality. The one that I chose to describe is a Dog. I chose this animal because they are really adorable and fun to play with. I know that some of you really like Dogs as much as i do. Anyways, here are a few reasons why I really like them:

- They are really Adorable
- They are Thrust Worthy
- They are really playful
- They can make you really make you happy whenever you feel sad or lonely
- They are fun to spend time with
- They are man's best friends 🖤❤

Here are some picture of Dogs that looks really adorable:

Alaskan Tsunami

Hi guys, for this blog post, I'm going to be showing you guys the graph that I made that is about the Alaskan Tsunami compared to some famous landmarks.

In case you can’t see the numbers, here are the measurements:

The Alaskan Tsunami - 550 m
Empire State Building - 450 m
Sky Tower - 328 m
Eiffel Tower - 324 m
Pyramid of Giza - 139 m

The thing that I was so surprised about was the gap between the Eiffel Tower and The Pyramid of Giza, but I’m pretty sure that if you see the pyramid up close in real life, it would be way taller than we think.

Science - Chromatography

Hey there, for today I'm going to be separating the colour blue and some black and see what colours are in it.

Hypothesis: I think that the colour blue isn't going to have that much colour. I think that the black is going to have a lot of colours combined together because black is a very strong colour.

Aim:

To separate the different pigments from ink using chromatography

Method:

1- Draw a line across the filter paper in pencil, 5cm from the bottom.
2- Draw a coloured dot in the centre of the line.
3- Measure out 10mL of water and place in the test tube.
4- Place the filter paper in the test tube and fold over the side. MAKE SURE THE PENCIL LINE IS NOT IN THE WATER.
5- Wait for 5minutes and observe the results
Observation: At first, I didn't see anything happening in the paper. I looked away for a minute then the colours started to separate from each other. The way the colours separated from each other looked really cool. The pigments that was combined together to make the colour Black were some Orange some Blue and a lot of other pigments. I couldn’t remember the other pigments that was in it but it was quite a lot. I also forgot to take a picture of the result that I got bit next time I’ll try to remember it 😊.

Ginger Gems

Ginger Gems

Ingredients:
100 g of Butter
50 g of Butter
1/2 cup of Sugar
2 Tsp of  Ground Ginger
1/2 tsp of Ground cinnamon
2 Tbsp of Golden Syrup
1 Egg
2 cups Standard flour
1/2 tsp of Baking powder
1 tsp of Baking soda
1/2 cup of Milk

The Butter are separated for a reason.
Here is a picture of how it looks when everything is sorted:

To do:

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees fan bake. Make sure to put the Muffin tin in the oven as well.

Cream the 100 g of butter with sugar, ground ginger and the cinnamon and mix it in together with a wooden spoon.
Beat the egg together with the golden syrup. While you're doing that, start sifting the flour and the baking onto a plate. Change the wooden spoon into a silicon scraper. Add some of the milk mixture as well as the flour little by little. Also start mixing it from the middle then to the side, start turning the bowl as you mix.

After that, take the muffin tins out of the Oven. Get a table spoon and a tea spoon, get the 50 g of butter that is cut up into 12 small cubes and put them in each and every one of the muffin tins.

After all of that, put it back in the oven and let it cook for 15 minutes. Once the 15 minutes is done, get a skewer or a tooth pick and insert it in the middle of the muffin to see if it’s cooked or not. When you think it’s done, just let it cool down for about 2 minutes. Once it’s done cooling down, put it on a rack and let it cool down again for about a minute or so. After that, it’s all ready for you to take home.     If you want you can half one of it and try it to see if taste good. The one that we made tasted really good. The texture also has a really good combination with the taste.

Separating a Mixture using Evaporation

Aim: to separate the solute from the solvent / making crystals

Hypothesis: I actually have no idea on what's actually going to happen

Equipment:
Copper sulfate solution, 250 ml Beaker, Heat proof mat, Evaporating basin, Element.

Method:
1. Set up Element
2. Add 100 ml of hot water into the beaker and place on the element
3. Add copper sulfate to the evaporating basin until it is quarter full
4. Carefully, place the Evaporating basin on top of the beaker
5. Turn on the Element
6. Heat the solute until most of the solvent has been evaporated and crystals of the solute is forming
7. Turn the element off, careful not to touch as will be hot for a long time

Observation:
It is starting to steam and boiling and the copper sulfate on top of the beaker is starting to lessen up.
After a few minutes, the copper sulfate started to harden up and is also starting to look like a crystal but in one big whole.

This is what the Crystal ended up looking:
