Drama

At Tuesday, we had two sessions of Drama. The first session that we had was about Puberty. It was really awkward because the boys and the girls were in the same room and the boys needed to know about the girl stuff and the girls needed to know about the boys stuff. It was really awkward and during the session, some of us couldn't help it and just laughed.

Anyways, I feel really excited today, I don't really know why. But here is my Puppet video that me and my friends did for the second session. Sorry if you could see our face. :)
This Story was about a bully bullying a girl that was just saying hi to her. Then, one of the friends of the girl that was getting bullied came up and stood up for her.

Mars and Earth

Aim: To learn about Mars exploration.

1. Rover facts
2. Design, Draw and Make a Rover
3. Mars facts

1. Rover facts:

What are the 5 parts for?
Link: Rovers 5 parts
Fill in the table below.

Name:
Purpose:
Wheels
The Mars 2020 rover has six wheels, each with its own individual motor.
The wheels also have individual steering motors. This steering capability allows the vehicle to turn in place, a full 360 degrees. The four-wheel steering also allows the rover to swerve and curve, making arcing turns.
Solar Panel
It produce electricity from the sun so that the rover can move
Laser
From more than 20 feet (~7 meters) away, SuperCam can fire a laser to study rock targets smaller than a pencil point. That lets the rover study spots it can't reach with its arm.
Camera
The rover has several cameras focused on engineering and science tasks. Some help us land on Mars, while others serve as our “eyes” on the surface to drive around. The camera also sends the pictures that it gets to NASA.
Shovel, rock pick,drill
The Mars 2020 mission will gather samples from Martian rocks and soil using its drill. The rover will then store the sample cores in tubes on the Martian surface. This entire process is called "sample caching".
Mars 2020 will be the first mission to demonstrate this on Mars. It could potentially pave the way for future missions that could collect the samples and return them to Earth for intensive laboratory analysis.

2. In groups of 3 you will Design, Draw and Make a Mars Rover out of Lego Technics.
Materials:

  1. Lego Technics
  2. A4 paper
  3. Pencil
  4. Ruler
  5. Eraser
The drawing and model must have:
  • 6 wheels
  • 1 camera
  • 1 tool at the front than includes a shovel, pick and drill.
  • 1 solar panel
  • 1 laser that points at the ground

( Take a photo and upload  your mars rover onto your blog.)

3. Mars Facts

Conclusion: Write about what you have learnt.

Today me and my group learnt and draw the 2020 Rover Model. We also searched up some stuff about the rover and watched a video about a rocket taking a rover to Mars.

Mental Wellbeing

What's Mental Health?
Mental Health is about you having different emotions .

What do you do when your Stressed out?
When I am stressed out, I sometimes cry because I feel alone and sometimes I also feel really stressed out when my friends always ask me questions like example, five question in a row then I suddenly forgot the first question they asked me  then they would get angry then they will say that I didn't pay attention.

Who is the best person to talk to at home and why?
The best person to talk to when I have a problem is probably my parents mostly my mum because she always helps me and my sister when we have a problem.

Who is the best person to talk to at school and why?
The best person to talk to at school is your form teacher or the counsellor. They are the best people to talk to because they can give you lots of advise to at least help you solve the problem.

Crystal

Aim: To learn about a saturated solution and how to make crystals
Definition of solution
A liquid mixture, when something is dissolved into a liquid (eg: sugar in water)

Definition of saturated
Having or holding as much as can be absorbed of something (when no more sugar or borax can be dissolved into the water)

In groups of three you will make three different types of crystals and compare the results.

Image result for borax crystals

Ratio; 3 Tablespoons Borax per 1/2 cup water

Materials

1) Pipe Cleaners x3
2) String
3) Pegs x1
4) Cups
5) Borax
6)
7)

Process

Step 1: Shape pipe cleaners into a star
Step 2: Hang star on a peg
Step 3: Make up borax solution
Step 4: Label your cup
Step 5:
Step 6:

Conclusion: Today in Science, we are making Crystals out out of 3 different types of crystals we can see in our Kitchen. The three types of crystal I'm talking about are Sugar, Salt and
Sugar Crystals

Grow your own Sugar Crystals

Ratio: 1 cup sugar to 1/2 cup water

Materials

1) Sugar
2) Cup
3) Stirring Sticks
4) String
5)

Process

Step 1: Put one cup of Sugar in a cup
Step 2: Put 1/2 cup of warm water in the same cup
Step 3: Stir very well
Step 4: Tie the string on the stirring stick and put it in the solution
Step 5:
Step 6:

Image result for how to make salt crystals

Ratio: 4 Tablespoons salt to 1/2 cup water

Materials

1) Salt
2) Water
3) String
4) Stirring Stick
5) Cup

Process

Step 1: Put some water on the cup
Step 2: Then put four tablespoons of salt then start stirring with a stirring stick
Step 3: Once you've stirred it well, tie a string on the stirring stick then leave it in the cup for a few days

What crystals worked out best and why?:

Conclusion:

________________________________________________________________________

After watching the videos as a class, explain how the following crystals are formed:

Type
Explanation
Salt
It is typically formed by the evaporation of salty water which contains dissolved Na+ and Cl- ions. One finds rock salt deposits ringing dry lake beds, inland marginal seas, and enclosed bays and estuaries in arid regions of the world.
Sugar
Most of the sugars are made by Sugar canes or Sugar beets.
Snowflakes
A snow flake is made by a drop of water and freezes.

The Feet can Measure the Height

THE FEET CAN MEASURE THE HEIGHT

The bones of the feet can tell a lot about a person. What do feet reveal about a person's height? Forensic anthropologists team up with law enforcers to help solve crimes.
Bones of the feet can reveal an interesting fact about an individual. Let's combine math with forensics to see how.

Image result for foot chart sizeImage result for foot to height ratio chart
Aim:  To use forensic science techniques to measure the height of a criminal.

Material:

  1. Ruler
  2. Feet

  3.

Steps:

  1.  Get a one meter ruler then measure your foot
  2.  After that, measure your height
  3.  Put your measurement on your chart
  4.
  5.
Findings:

Name
Foot  (cm)
Height (cm)
Janel28cm - 17.00 cm159cm
Keyana23cm - 14.5 cm154 cm

Divide the length of each person's foot by his/her height. then multiply it by 100

Conclusion:
Today we got into a group of two then measured the length of our foot and also our height. It was really interesting to find out the length of our foot and also my height using a one meter ruler but it's actually sad that I'm not going to be able to do it again for the next period but I hope I can do it at home.
